APARTMENT - JORDANOVAC, ZAGREB
DESIGN APPROACH
This small 40 m² apartment was a true pleasure to work on. The owner, a young and successful woman, wanted to decorate her Zagreb residence in a mixed style combining industrial design, minimalism, and contemporary Art Deco. The complete renovation of the apartment, including the demolition of all partition walls, was a significant challenge. The entire apartment has only one interior door, and that is the bathroom door. The apartment space was opened up by merging the hallway, kitchen, dining/working area, living room, and sleeping area. We visually separated the sleeping area with angled wooden slats from ceiling to floor, creating an airy and bright space for living and working.
All the furniture was designed and custom-made, except for the blue velvet sofa and armchair, the purple box spring bed, and the black coffee table. Copper accents run throughout the apartment, including the sink and faucet, the chandelier, and painted copper pipes. The main wall in the living and sleeping areas was painted in a concrete style using a special technique. The kitchen features simple lines in achromatic colors, as does the table running along the length of the room, which can be used for dining, working, or socializing. The bathroom is clad in tiles resembling natural stone, with black faucets.
