RECEPTION COTTAGE – ISLAND OF KORČULA

DESIGN APPROACH

On the beautiful island of Korčula, nestled in the shade of a dense pine forest and in close proximity to the sea, lies a charming Mediterranean ground-floor house built in the 1980s. This house, which serves as the reception area for the campsite, exudes the authentic spirit of the Mediterranean with characteristic architectural details such as stone and wood.

Recognizing the potential and unique character of this building, we decided on a thorough renovation of the interior space. Our goal was to create a more functional, modern, and aesthetically pleasing space that would offer greater comfort and a more enjoyable stay for our guests.

Our conceptual renovation plan includes the transformation of the interior space to better utilize every square meter. The open plan facilitates easier communication and movement for both guests arriving and departing the campsite, as well as for the staff. The contemporary interior design incorporates modern materials and technologies while retaining the warmth and charm of the original structure.

Special attention was paid to details that emphasize the Mediterranean style—stone and wood as natural materials, vibrant plants in the central reception area, neutral colors with accents of blue and yellow, and spacious windows that allow ample natural light. The new interior layout includes a spacious reception desk, comfortable seating areas for guests, and functional workspaces for our staff.

Importantly, we aimed to visually integrate the interior space with the natural outdoor environment to the maximum extent.

We believe this renovation will significantly enhance the experience of all campsite visitors, providing not only a high level of service but also a sense of welcome and comfort from the moment they arrive.
