DESIGN APPROACH

Our goal was to design an office for our agency that would give employees and clients the impression of a creative, functional, and above all, comfortable space. The task was to transform a small apartment with a large terrace in an old Zagreb villa into an interesting office consisting of: a hallway/waiting room, a space with desks for work or dining, a small kitchen behind a partition, a hallway with a mini bar, a restroom, a large office, a bathroom, and a large winter garden for presentations, meetings, work, or relaxation. The style was predetermined: modern Art Deco.

Materials and furniture were chosen according to ecological principles: all desks have bases made from old but refurbished metal cabinets, designer chairs on the terrace are second-hand and refurbished, the kitchen and partition panels are made from Fores Color material (ecological MDF), all exterior joinery is aluminum, and interior doors are solid wood. The meeting room is mainly heated by sunlight through large glass walls, while other rooms are heated via a heat pump system.

Throughout the interior (except the restroom and bathroom), the floors are covered with blue-brown oak Diesel parquet. The outdoor terrace is clad with wooden floor panels and a woolen carpet.

Interior walls are painted with ecological paints or covered with wallpaper made from recycled paper.

Wallpaper in the hallway and larger workroom within borders, stylish lamps, framed old Vogue covers, a plush sofa, and rich curtains are accents that give the impression of a modern Art Deco style.
